Ray wrote:I agree with you DJ. People discuss the tyres, just not here and a million other things but since nobody visits the forum except the obvious few, it is useless debating something we all agree on. At every race meeting I tell people to go to the forum, that is where everything is discussed. People complain that nothing constructive gets said and asked to be removed, can we blame them for feeling that way? I will talk "insert choice word" (thanks Ototw) the whole day if I have the chance to do so but we have to cater for those who need information.
Some only log in to brouse the for sale section and the weekend results thread. That is their right and I want them to carry on doing so. Just maybe while you logged in, say something!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if it is; "what happened to the results?'
Let me explain what happened to the results. We are now using a pc that is in the container and the results don't come home anymore so impossible to post unless I remember to take my flashdrive along....like that's going to happen..We take a printed version home to do the points.
Anyway, we try to make racing as affordable to all as possible because we assume everyone is on a budget. Therefor the different classes. If the 17.5 and 13.5 will be to expensive or if TT01 is to cheap, voice your opinion. The alternative would be to race a class you can afford. I am not speaking on behalf of the committee at all so don't see it that way. It is my opinion and a logical one at that.
If nothing of value is being discussed on the forum, then a bit of kakprat is the order of the day just to keep things rolling. If some take offence to their only being kakprat going on, then they should encourage some constructive chit chat re setups, race times, who's painting up a new body, new equipment, new ideas, etc. The amount of topics to discuss about rc is endless!
I do agree with you as well, but someone needs to stepup to keep the forum up to date re results, events, etc. Without the flow of information, what do you have? And with that you'll encourage the traffic flow and the comments will follow.
Oh yes, get a flashdrive that clips onto your carkeys keyring, that way you'll never leave it at home!!

the DJ wrote:Maybe the forum needs to be advertised/promoted a bit more as an active club discussion area, and not the shop floor. Jokes, it's cool standing in the shop talking *insert choice word* about rc for hours!! Maybe make a poster in the shop, advertise the flying section, offroad section, etc available on the forum. Where's Brad? What's happening to the drifting scene?? Or is he paintballbefok??
Someone needs to step up to the plate and keep the forum updated on a regular basis wrt to results, lap records, rule changes, up coming events, ideas, etc etc. Without that, there is no interest to discuss anything.
Being proactive is much easier than being reactive!!

..............""""I agree with you DJ. People discuss the tyres, just not here and a million other things but since nobody visits the forum except the obvious few, it is useless debating something we all agree on.(some do,some not) At every race meeting I tell people to go to the forum, that is where everything is discussed.
