The bigger the tyre the bigger the rollout i trim down wht i got then compensate with pinnions to get rollout right the more experienced guys preffers to run a smaller tyre. I dont know the reason behind it.

Rolling weight or resistance or something like that, also less sidewall movement while cornering which slows the car down??? But ja, the top guys prefer smaller tyres, me, I couldn't shave my tyres, it's like throwing money into the wind.

most cars handle better on smaller tyres and it reduces rotating mass using smaller tyres. the same rollout can almost always be acchieved by playing around with pinions or spurgears. for a new guy I would suggest starting on a safe rollout of 42mm/rpm and then moving up while monitoring motor temp and accaleration out the slower turns.

I also started on a 42 and then worked my way up and I think I have found a rollout that works for me. I also went for a bigger spur which seemed to help. Thanks for all the advice guys definitely helped a lot and took the frustration out of it.

some people start at 42 and burn their motors out so it's merely a fairly safe benchmark. Nicole had a victory this weekend by some margin on 42.5 rollout. All motors are different, keep that in mind.
