The 12th of December DRCCC will have a endurance race aswell as pricegiving.
I did some r/c google and see what some of the endurance races have to do,I know they refer to nitro, but see it as more than just racing laps, suggestions????
Here we are folks, The singlemost exciting R/c race concept this year!! On the 17th October 2010, the race will start at 10am and when it starts you have to fit the engine, run it in, tune it and race it as hard as you can over 6 hours at the fantastic Stoke Nitro track in Stoke on Trent, Staffs. In true Le Mans style the winner will be the team with the largest amount of laps after the 6 hours is over.

Some more quotes from R/C sites:
Ideal for teambuilding or for simply unforgettable events. Teams of drivers compete as they would in a full scale endurance racing. Making pit stops to refuel there car (change batteries) and change drivers at intervals determined by the team. Teamwork and team management are paramount, as competitors manage there own pit stop strategy, driver line-up and all the dramas and strategic thinking that is associated with endurance racing. The event starts with a team briefing and pit-stop training before a period of timed practice, allowing all drivers to refine their skill, and compete for grid positions.

Endurance December 2010 Empty Endurance race

Post  ototw Sun Nov 28, 2010 11:04 am

I found this comment on a r/c forum:
I have done a buggy (electric 1/10) 24hrs endurance race many moons ago, 5 man team and i was the only lucky basterd to have 4hrs shut eye.

There was 10 teams and we came 4th being the highest place privateer, we pooled our resources also it was a one car only for the whole team. By the time the race was over both man and machine was half dead .

I've also done a 4hrs team race as well, 10x4 man teams and this time each driver could race their own car.

Tactics and teamplay come into play into this format of racing.

It was a marvelous and memorable time in my RC days.

It would be awesome if there are any upcoming events like those. It trully is an amazing experience.

Sounds like great fun. We just need to make a few decisions regarding things like the size of the teams, motor size, how many and size of batterries, what determines the winner = most laps? etc. The committee will have to make this info available before raceday so that teams can get together or plan for it.
