Coastal Cup 2012 is finally here!!
After much discussion it's finally coming together.
Thanks to everyone for your input and enthusiasm in getting this show on the road.
The CC this year will branch out into 3 regions and can be called a true Coastal Cup for the first time.
It will be hosted in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and KZN and everybody along the coast is welcome to join in. This series is aimed at promoting the hobby we all love so much along the coastal regions in a lighter hearted format, based more on the fun element rather than on the hardcore rules rules rules formats in the other series' run around the country. The classes being run are based on an amalgamation  of the 3 regions' classes, with a basic set of specs/rules for each class. One of the other main elements of this series is to keep it as cheap as possible for all concerned , as we all know how much traveling to an away event can cost.
Event dates and venues:
Cape Town - 28, 29 April - Indoor track
KZN - 14, 15 July - DMCC(tbc)
Port Elizabeth - 3,4 November - DRCCC
The event will be run over two days starting at 1pm on the Saturday with 2 heats of qualifiers, then on the Sunday a 3rd heat of qualifying and 1 final(at time of going to print, may change). The tracks will be open early on the Saturday morning for free practice until 1 hour prior to the start of the event. Drivers briefing, where applicable host club rules/etiquette will be communicated, will take place 30 mins prior to the start of the event. Entries for each event must reach the host club 2 weeks prior to the event taking place.
Main classes scoring points towards floating trophy:
TT01 Touring Stock
Club Stock
23t Super Stock
13.5t/19t
Mini 2wd
Non scoring fun classes(time permitting):
Mini 4wd
F1 2wd
13.5t FWD/RWD Pan
Medals will be handed out to all top 3 finishers in all mains, along with drivers of the day medals. The floating trophy will be awarded to the region with the most points based on a percentage of participants per region to keep it fair.

Looks like we'll be adding 17.5t to the fun class section due to some requests from you guys. I have notified the other regions so that we might draw a few entries from them as well. If it gets alot of entries from the other two regions we might just have to pop it into the points scoring section, that'll help your cause to get a few extra points towards the trophy hey!!!! Like if??

Re: Coastal Cup 2012 is finally here!!
Howzit guys
Another quick update for the CC.....
Entry fee per driver for the weekend is ONLY R80, irrespective of how many cars you enter.....now isn't that good value for money?? What can you do with R80 nowadays?? F.......ll really. So come to CT and the CC and spend it wisely on 2 days of endless rc thrills and spills!!!!
We will also be selling commemorative tshirts to celebrate the CC's inaugural coming of age over the race weekend, we will however only have limited quantities available over and above the initial pre orders, so place your order quickly and be guaranteed of getting your hands on one of these once off T's at the ridiculously low price of ONLY R70!! Orders can be placed through your regional rep for CC or your club chairman in the respective regions, or you can pop me a pm or mail or whateva, but do so now!! They're very decent quality, and the logo is tit!!!!! Take a look for yourself......
Now tell me that ain't awesome.....
On Saturday nite we'll be having a bit of a kuier braai after the racing is done for the day, you can purchase a braai pack for this through the same channels as the T's. They consist of the following: 1x lamb chop(150g), 1x chicken kebab(130g), 1x stuk wors(120g), 1x brood rolletjie, and a generous portion(self service) of potato salad for the amazing low price of ONLY R40 , that's right, ONLY R40. They're already selling like hot cakes amongst our guys with some of them taking 2 to fill those enormous gaps that'll be created from a days stiff competition. We'll have paper plates and disposable cutlery available, but if you prefer porcelain, then BYO.
Please support these two offers, as without the funds generated from their sale, trccc wouldn't be able to put on this event. So get your orders in and spread the word to those not on the forum who're thinking of making the trip, cause this'll surely push them over the edge to sign up!!!
