New Off-Roader!

Hi all, I am Mark, from Uitenhage. Was involved in rc racing years ago and have now returned. This time to off road rc . Not a member at DiazRCCC as yet , but hope to be soon. Chat later !

Thanks DJ ! What do you think of getting the old Uitenhage track in a racing condition ? There are a number of guys that are still interested there.

Welcome on board, Mark. At DRCCC you will experience the fun of on road racing again. Talking about the track in Uitenhage, you'll have a big problem getting it up to racing again. You'll first have to get rid of the weeds that have taken over the racing surface and then only can you ascertain what needs to be done to be up and racing. Good luck! In the mean time you are more than welcome to join us and bring your buddies with.

It will take a bit of bucks to fix Uitenhage up, but definately not impossible. If the guys are dedicated enough, it can easily be done. Good luck if you decide to go that route, would be nice to have 2 tracks in the PE region, some nice interclub events could be on the cards!!

Thanks TCab, i realise that there be alot of work needed at the Uitenhage track. Just have to find out who still has the lease or permission there. Also working on getting a good off-road track up and running. Any suggestions ? I was up at Uitenhage track on Sunday, sad sad sad. That track used to rock at one stage. Any one know what happened to Daryl Anderson ? He was the one that got me hooked on RC racing. Chat later.

If I remember correctly, the lease was up for renewal end of 2009 or early 2010. Francois would be the person to speak to.

Thanks guys . Is there any racers from Uitenhage that come through on race days (even if i only marshall) ? I would like to join in but i don't have my own transport .

Got hold of Francois. And great news, the track is still on lease and not back as municepal property. Seed planted, now alot of watering !!! . Looks like i will return to on-road racing after all .
